What this take shows. Six agents arranged as horizontal lanes, each with a different gap-trait μ — from impulsive at the top to highly reflective at the bottom. When a trigger lands, the lane lights up red (involuntary spike). Then the gap opens as a translucent earth-colored zone whose width scales with μ × ξ. Inside the gap, a moss bar fills — the cumulative reappraisal probability. If the bar reaches threshold before the gap closes, reappraisal succeeds (green dot, charge dissipates, F drifts toward G). Otherwise the gap closes raw and a red action arrow fires.
Each successful reappraisal costs a little ξ. Each raw reaction costs more. Watch the high-μ lanes pause and absorb; the low-μ lanes fire almost immediately. Over time, ξ depletion narrows even the contemplative gaps.
