Each cell adopts the majority state of its neighborhood. With threshold 5, a cell becomes state 1 if 5+ of its 9-cell neighborhood are state 1.
Majority voting rules form "gerrymandered" regions. Higher thresholds increase stability. Multi-state systems show complex competition dynamics.
