Fraser Spiral Illusion

This illusion, discovered by British psychologist James Fraser in 1908, creates the appearance of a spiral using overlapping arc segments. In reality, these are perfectly concentric circles, not a spiral!

The illusion is caused by the tilted arrangement of the black and white segments which create a "twisting" effect that tricks the brain into perceiving a spiral.

Instructions:
• The pattern appears to be a spiral, but it's actually concentric circles
• Click "Show Circles" to reveal the true circular structure
• Watch the rotation to see how the segments align
• Try to trace a circle with your finger - it works!
