Each voter can vote directly or delegate their vote to someone they trust. Delegations chain: if A delegates to B, and B delegates to C, then C votes with the weight of all three.
This combines the best of direct and representative democracy: experts accumulate influence, but anyone can reclaim their vote at any time.
Cycles (A->B->C->A) are problematic and those votes are lost.
